About Us
The Name ConstructoGroup

When searching for a company name in 2003, I happened to see a cardboard sign written with black marker, reading "Constructo People," underlined by an arrow pointing up a side lane. Later, I asked my 12 year old son, Ward, what he thought of the name Constructo. He was still a moment, then with a strong gesture, struck his fist to his chest and into the air, exclaiming "I, I am El Constructo!, and you, you are my faithful helper." There was no going on to other names after that -- until incorporating in 2008, when the BC incorporation people insisted something be put ahead of the word ConstructoGroup to make the name unique! I submitted many brilliant names, entering A1 to fill up the form. Yes, I incorporated the only name approved - A1 CONSTRUCTOGROUP LTD. However, we still operate by the name ConstructoGroup.

When meeting a client for the first time, she explained that she planned to select a contractor based on his / her core values, which inspired me to identify our core values. After a company lunch and huge banana splits at Pluto's, we agreed that well-being is our highest priority. We believe improving your home improves your life. Our goal is to produce a healthy home where you love to be. We believe that putting care and good cheer into the process is integral to achieving this. Kathy Price joins ConstructoGroup to provide a woman led renovation team for ConstructoGroup clients who would like to have a woman look after their renovation. Kathy will be the connection between the client/s and ConstructoGroup employees and specialty contractors, including design consultants. Kathy is an Architectural Technician and certified Built Green BC Builder with 15 years construction experience in Quality Control and Customer Relations for several leading construction firms here in Victoria.
